VeeEyeEm's Mind

Experience has shown, and a true philosophy will always show, that a vast, perhaps the larger portion of the truth arises from the seemingly irrelevant.

Vancity BC, philosophy, queerness, atheism, snowboarding and a smattering of outrageously funny shit. Pura vida

  • Free Thinking Atheists: Breaking Down the Virgin Mary Toast

    freethinkingatheists:

    image

Human beings are remarkably good at facial recognition. Not only can we remember other human faces from long ago after only having seen them briefly, but we can fabricate faces in just about anything; mountain sides, clouds, a dogs backside (you know you’ve seen it), and yes, even toast. We…

  • hey :) I'm a girl and I recently told my auntie about feelings that I have for one of my friends that is also a girl. She was understanding but she did point out that because our generation nowadays is very 'pro-gay' and sooo many people identify as bi-sexual, that maybe I was just confused about it all. She wasn't trying to belittle my feelings in any way, but do you think that its possible? That I'm confused because so many people talk about being gay that it made me think: am I gay as well?xx

As pure as I’m sure your auntie’s intentions are, I find that very unlikely. Being gay is much more accepted today but I doubt the social acceptance of bisexuality or homosexuality would in any meaningful way influence your personal sexuality. Having said that, some people do go through phases; they think they have a crush but it’s only fleeting and not indicative of their long term sexual identity. Either way though, she should accept that this is how you’re feeling right now. Nobody can say whether it will change in the future or not :)

I absolutely love that song (and Metric in general) so it’s possible!
