VeeEyeEm's Mind

Experience has shown, and a true philosophy will always show, that a vast, perhaps the larger portion of the truth arises from the seemingly irrelevant.

Vancity BC, philosophy, queerness, atheism, snowboarding and a smattering of outrageously funny shit. Pura vida

  • “Growing up, I was never aware of the fact that only white males who owned property were covered in the Constitution and could vote, and the whole country was built on genocide, the murder of natives. I’ve often thought that the more I read, the more I realized that our government may never have stood for the things I believe in. But they made a mistake. Somewhere along the line they taught me that’s what we stood for, and now I demand it.”

when straight guys ask how lesbian sex works i feel really bad for their girlfriends because if you dont understand how to have sex with a girl in any way other than repeatedly putting your dick in her you are having some really bad sex

This will likely be the only thing I reblog about the Boston bombings. Sometimes I think these tragedies are over publicized to the point that it validates the perpetrator. In being so intrigued by the grotesque, we give them the attention they were seeking. All I will say, is that there are some real heroes to thank and some somber reflections to be made. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to lose a loved one that way but what I do know, is praying won’t do a single damn thing. Share your thoughts with people, put them into words or better yet, turn them into actions. But saying you’ll pray means absolutely nothing because we all know you’ll go back to watching tv or making a sandwich after you’ve posted your status and checked the likes.

If you have ever thought to yourself “Oh my god, why does it even MATTER if there are gay people in this? Its a book/movie/TV show/etc. It isn’t a big deal!” Remember this:

You have probably NEVER, EVER, in your entire life, read a book WITHOUT any straight people in…

  • Hey I was wondering if you could give me some advice? I think I might be bi but I'm really not even sure. i'm a girl and i guess ive always thought of myself as straight but over the past few months I've had really strong feelings towards one of my friends that is also a girl. But maybe we're just good friends? But idk I just always want to be with her and I get excited when she texts me and I've just generally been thinking about girls in a more sexual way. What do you think all this means?

Hey there! First of all, I wouldn’t worry too much about the label. What you call yourself doesn’t really matter at this point. Labels provide visibility and community for people but they don’t define you. I generally think that people know their feelings pretty well, even if they’re hard to admit. So, if you think you have sexual or romantic feelings for this friend, you are probably right. Whether this makes you bi or gay or anything else (pan, bi-curious etc.) doesn’t really matter. Just be confident in yourself. As for having feelings for a friend… if you know without a doubt that she’s straight, then try your best to get over her because that shit can be painful! Talking to her about your feelings might help you move past them- but only if you think she’ll be understanding. Anyway, good luck and remember, sexuality can be fluid. Just go with the flow :)
